The City of Prince George’s Urban Forest is an integral part of the city’s identity. Wherever you are in the city you’re never far from a forested park or greenbelt.  The City’s Official Community Plan and the 2001 Quality of Life Survey both identify the City’s trees as an asset that contribute to an excellent quality of life for city residents and visitors.

Planting and care of the city’s urban forest is managed by two City departments.  Together, Environment Services and Parks & Solid Waste Services Division manage forested greenbelts and natural parks, and care for trees in urban and park areas including streets, boulevards and parks. The City of Prince George employs Professional ISA Certified Arborists and Registered Professional Foresters to preserve, protect, and enhance our urban forest.
