Ice Making Workshop
If your organization wishes to operate an outdoor rink in Prince George this winter, then you must ensure that volunteers who are flooding the rink using a hydrant or stand-pipe are certified. This 2 hour workshop is held the 1st Thursday of December each year and is geared for both the new operator, as well as those operators who need to be recertified (every 3 years). This workshop will cover basic flooding equipment, use of fire hydrants and stand-pipes and flooding techniques. A short test must be completed at the end of the evening. Please register in advance by calling the Community Services Department at 561-7600.
