What's New?
Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve. Last fall the Spruce City Wildlife Association volunteers released 2,200 rainbow trout into Ferguson Lake. The club reared the fish at it's hatchery and intends to develop this location into a popular local fishery for anglers and educators. There are plans to construct a new dock in Spring 2008. To learn more abut this program please call the Spruce City Wildlife Association at 250-563-5437 or visit their web site at www.scwa.bc.ca
So where is Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve? It is located just off North Kelly Road on Ferguson Lake Road. The nature reserve is situated on 18.4 ha and includes a unique 3km interpretive trail system that surrounds the small lake. An old homestead site is still visible along with a dock, viewpoint, picnic site and canoe launch. Part of the trail system is suspended over the lake on a plank style walkway and provides a unique look at the lake plant life. Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve provides an exceptional outing for the entire family - check it out!
Disc Golf is now in prince George! Last fall Rotary Prince George in partnership with the City of Prince George and the Ultimate Frisbee league opened the first disc golf course in Prince George. The nine basket course has been strategically designed and installed at Rainbow Park. Disc Golf is for all ages and abilities, other than a Frisbee it is also FREE! Look for the course layout and rules at the sign located at the park entrance just off Rainbow Drive.
