KidSport Program
KidSport is a national children's charitable program that assists financially disadvantaged kids to overcome the barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport by providing funds for registration/participant fees to sport leagues.

The KidSport concept was developed by Sport BC in 1993, to provide a response to many new issues facing organized youth sport including cost of participating in sport and increase in child obesity to name a few. KidSport is presently available on a provincial level and a local Prince George KidSport fund and committee, like many other local chapters in communities across BC, will ensure that money that is raised in the community stays in the community.
A KidSport committee has formed made up of various interested volunteers from different sport organizations in the City of Prince George and will be responsible for developing our community chapter, promoting the program, soliciting sponsorship, allocating funds and provide annual reports. This committee will set up it's own structure and will have it's own bank account and operate under the provincial chapter's umbrella. Each community fund is licensed as a “franchise” of the provincial fund.
