Grant Forms - Promotional
In granting financial assistance for the purpose of supporting the promotion of the City, the City is seeking to support programs that:
- Provide an opportunity for the City to officially recognize and support a unique event which will be held within the City, particularly where such an event will foster community spirit and pride, or where it will contribute to one of the objectives set out in paragraph 2.
- Are designed to:
- Market the City to potential visitors of all types, with the ultimate objective of achieving a net increase in economic activity within the City through the development of the visitor service industry and related businesses;
- Make local residents and businesses aware of the importance of the visitor service industry to the City's economy, with the objective of creating a welcoming environment for visitors;
- Address common misperceptions about Prince George, with the ultimate objective of improving the image of Prince George in the eyes of those who may consider investing in or relocating to the City.
Promotional grants should not be for:
- Services which are primarily recreational or educational (in particular academic or technical training);
- Research (other that research to identify the need for, or the effectiveness of, various types of programs);
- Transportation (other than transportation that is incidental to a program);
- Payment of City property taxes;
- Operating or capital deficits incurred in prior years;
- Agencies, which are primarily funding bodies to other organizations.
The Application Form
The 2010 Grants have been allocated. Applications for the 2011 grants will be available in the fall of 2010 and the deadline will be late 2010.
