Recognition Awards

Prince George is an exceptional city because of the variety of people who work hard and give of their time to make this community a wonderful place.

The City of Prince George honours citizens with the following awards:

Outstanding Volunteer Award: Recognizes individuals in the community who have made a significant contribution to numerous recreation and/or community service areas, for a minimum of 15 years. Youth of the Year Award: Annually recognizes a 13-18 year old youth that have made an outstanding contribution to the community. Nominations must come from the community and the school. Click here for more information, past winners and nomination criteria. Click here for the 2009 awards banquet.
Access Award of Merit: Group, individual or business who has made a significant contribution to increasing accessibility for people with special needs. Click here for more information.

Other Community Awards

There are several other organizations in the community that honour outstanding citizens of Prince George. The Community Foundation selects the Citizen of the Year, the Community Arts Council inducts people into the Art Gallery of Honour and the Sports Hall of Fame Society induct individuals or teams into their Hall of Fame.
