Soil Removal and Deposit Bylaw - 2009 Review and Update
The City of Prince George is conducting a review and update of its Soil Removal and Deposit Bylaw. The SRD Bylaw is used to regulate the removal and deposit of large quantities of soil within City limits. Soil is defined as “soil, topsoil, sand, gravel, rock, silt, clay, peat, sediment or any other substance of which land is composed”. Activities typically regulated by the Bylaw include gravel pits and quarries, and the mining of aggregate.
The City is in the process of advising and soliciting input from government agencies and stakeholders about the proposed amendments to the SRD Bylaw. As part of this consultation process, the City will be hosting an open house to inform and collect comment from all interested or affected parties and members of the public.
