Frequently Asked Questions

What if I'm not at home during my designated watering day?
Most lawns need about one inch (2.5 cm) of water per week, including rainfall, which can be easily applied on just one of your sprinkling days. The bi-daily sprinkling regulation gives you flexibility if one of your allowed days is inconvenient.
How can I keep my new lawn alive during hot weather?
Typically, three weeks of suitable watering will be sufficient for establishing a healthy new lawn.
Why save water in what most would consider Prince George to be a water-rich city?
Prince George is located in the central British Columbia interior, at the confluence of the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. Both the Nechako and Fraser Rivers are both reliable sources of water. It is seldom that Prince George would experience a severe shortage. However, we have to run pumps to deliver water. That can get quite costly. Peak summer days in Prince George can challenge our pumping and storage facilities and negatively affect the quality of our drinking water.
