Emergency Response and Recovery Plan
The Emergency Response and Recovery Plan outlines the City of Prince George’s authority to act in emergencies, and communicates the policies and procedures to be followed.
The plan also takes into account the coordination with other organizations, both government and private, that may assist the City of Prince George during an emergency.
The purpose of the emergency plan is to help the City of Prince George and community representatives save lives, reduce suffering, protect property, mitigate damage to the environment, and control the economic consequences of emergencies and disasters.
This plan provides the operational guidelines for coordinating response to incidents arising from hazards and risks faced by citizens, employees and visitors to the city.
Response Priorities
The City EOC, as with the site response level, supports a prescribed set of response goals. These response goals are outlined in the British Columbia Emergency Response Management System (BCERMS).
BCERMS was developed using 5 major references:

- British Columbia Strategy for Response
- National Fire Protection Association Standard 1561: Standard on Fire Department Incident Management System
- Incident Command System National Training Curriculum
- California Standardized Emergency Management System
