Property Maintenance
All property is to be kept from the accumulation of rubbish, garbage, wrecked vehicles, or any discarded materials of any kind. In addition, all yards are to be kept free from excessive growth of weeds and grasses and generally kept in a manner consistent with surrounding properties.
Snow Removal Parking Restrictions
In order to remove snow and ice from our streets as quickly as possible, it is necessary to prohibit parking on streets during certain times so that City crews can perform their duties efficiently. Parking is prohibited on residential streets from 8am until 6pm seven days a week from October 15 to April 15. Vehicles may be fined $50.00 and could be towed. Overnight parking is only allowed on the odd side of the street, unless posted otherwise posted.
Parking at Meters
When you park at a missing/inoperative meter, the 2-hour time limit is still in effect and may result with a fine and/or a tow. Motorists are reminded that failure to pay your parking tickets may result in your vehicle being towed the next time it is illegally parked.
Parking of Vehicles on City Boulevards
All motorists are reminded that the parking of motor vehicles on city boulevards is prohibited. In most cases, the boulevard area is separated from the road by a curb. If you had to “jump” a curb, or if you are parking on grass or earth, you are illegally parked and are subject to a $15 penalty and/or tow.
Noise Control
Any noise, which is unnecessary or excessive and disturbs a person is not allowed. For example, the repeated barking of a dog or the loud playing of a stereo is not permitted at any time of the day or night.
Dogs at Large
Dogs owners are prohibited from allowing their dog(s) to run at large. A dog is considered to be at large when it leaves the property where it is kept and is not under the control of a person. If a dog is picked up by an Animal Control Officer, it will be impounded at a considerable cost and inconvenience to the owner.
All dogs must be licensed. Dog licenses are available at the following outlets for $60 each ($25 if the dog has been sterilized). Dog licenses are valid only for the current year. 2007 licenses are available starting December 1 2006. If a license is purchased before January 31 2007, there is a discounted rate of $50.00 each ($20.00 if the dog has been sterilized). A license for a dangerous dog is $250.00 ($100.00 if the dog is spayed/neutered).
